SAS June 13th Meeting

Stockton Astronomical Society presents:

Amateur Telescope Making

Last month’s program with Tom Zobrist provided a fascinating peek into the high tech fabrication of some of the world’s biggest and best ground-based professional telescopes.

The field of amateur telescope fabrication has come a long way also and continues to innovate design and refine techniques for making ever more precise mirrors.

The SAS currently has a very active ATM group, led by our guru Jeff Baldwin. Jeff will bring us up to date on some of the goings on at his optical shop in Lathrop, probably supported by one or more of the regulars at his ATM sessions...regulars who, in their own right, bring considerable know how to the process of building telescopes.

...Dennis LeClert, Program Director
