The Stockton Astronomical Society (SAS) meets on the second Thursday of the month in the Olson Hall, Room 120 at the University of the Pacific at 7:30 pm. Visitors are welcome.
A monthly star party is usually held on a Saturday near a new moon.

The Mars Opposition of March 3, 2012

In his talk, Jeff will discuss the frequency of Mars oppositions, which ones are better than others and why, what to expect when looking at Mars, and a few other odds and ends regarding this upcoming opposition.

If the weather is clear we can even go out and look at Mars afterwards.
